Reviews about Fun with Photoshop Elements 4: Foto Fakery for Everyone by Rhoda Grossman

This is a great compilation of how you can use Photoshop for a number of potentially professional or just plain fun projects. It is well written and gives examples on the website you can use along with the book. The book isn't too long or too short, a good quantity for the price and expectation. Granted it is rather dated considering the version that's out now, but if you have an older version and want to learn the basics, this is a good tutorial to get started with Photoshop.

This is a well written book on creating "false" images. The idea is to modify, add, be whimsical about your photographic escapades. Yes, it is fun to "create" postcards and add text. This book provides additional ideas to "mix" locations and create unusual eye-catching images. I also learned much from the enhancement section, on how to optimize specific areas of an image to create the Best image possible. Very good information, procedures and prompts.

Most of the Photoshop Elements books are written using keyboard codes that are only for Windows. This book uses very few shortcut keys and the ones it does use are universal.

In addition it is very well organized into specific projects that teach how to use the Elements features. Rhoda Grossman's style of writing is easy to understand and entertaining. The book does not have a CD but refers you to the web site where you can download images to practice the exercises. It is filled with tips and information that makes Elements behave like Photoshop.

This book is a lot of fun. You can learn to give someone a black eye, or move the Golden Gate Bridge to Seattle. It's easy to follow and the exercises are a lot of fun to do. If you want to take your ex out of those old pictures or just make them look a lot older, this book will tell you how to do it.
